Supporting Your Journey to
Positive Mental Health.
As a certified and registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (MBACP), I can offer you a more flexible approach to therapy that addresses your problems and works with your lifestyle.
You are now a young adult and I acknowledge you are navigating through a new life chapter, which can be confusing, overwhelming or even frightening at times. You may be considering or attempting to balance employment, leaving home and/or continuing futher academic study, or perhaps you may be feeling lost or in a crisis of what you 'should be doing' and what you 'want to be doing' with your life. It can be difficult to set aside time and space for your mental health, but if you found yourself identifying with any or all of the above, it is best to create that space now.
Whether or not you have experienced mental health challenges in the past, have noticed your mental health declining or you haven't felt like yourself for a while now and finding life a struggle to cope with, you are not alone and you are always welcome to contact me to discuss therapeutic options that can help you get to the root of the problem.
If you are a full-time student or a care leaver, ask me about reduced rates so finances won't get in the way of your support and recovery.*
Term-time contracts are also available for university students, so please do ask if you feel this could work for you.
*(Proof of Student Registration & Attendance Status Required).
More questions?
Your mental health is unique and shaped by your experiences. You may find you are usually able to cope and resolve life's difficult moments on your own, but maybe something has changed and things aren't working the way they used to, perhaps it's all become too overwhelming to cope alone or you don't know where to begin.

Asking for help is the first step to gaining clarity of the problem and regaining control of your mental health.

FAQs About Therapy
What is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
It’s a style of Psychotherapy that supports an individual’s understanding of how current thoughts, feelings and behaviours are shaped by their past experiences.
By getting to the root of the problem, you are more likely to better understand your experiences, draw links between the past and your current problems, and make longer lasting changes to reduce suffering and difficult feelings.
How do sessions work?
Sessions are tailored to your pace and capacity to avoid becoming overwhelmed by painful memories or confusion and to ensure you have a safe and containing experience. Working in this way puts you at the centre of your therapy and supports you to make natural and longer lasting positive change within yourself.
Using roleplay, talking and creative activities, we work together to locate deep rooted experiences hidden in your unconscious mind and gently bring these to the surface, into your awareness. This is where it can often feel overwhelming.
Working within the therapeutic relationship, I support you to start noticing patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings which occur ‘in the session’ and between us. This encourages you to gradually draw links between past experiences and difficulties experienced in the 'here and now'.
Observation, listening and interpretation are some of the tools I use to assist you with unpacking, exploring and understanding traumatic experiences in a safe and containing way. A better understanding allows you to acknowledge your true feelings and consider alternative ways of thinking about current problems and mental health.
Who can benefit?
Anyone facing emotional difficulties, stress, or needing personal support can benefit from counselling and psychotherapy.
Childhood trauma and poor mental health can significantly impact the ability to develop and maintain healthy personal, emotional and social relationships, impair cognition and learning, and diminish self-esteem and confidence.
Families and friendships are also affected when poor mental health is present in the home, at work or at college/university. Counselling and Psychotherapy doesn't just support you with your mental health and challenges, it influences a positive change to your personal and social relationships too.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. There are different therapy options available to you, including online. Check out the 'Services & Fees' section to find out more.
Is it confidential?
Yes, all sessions are private and confidential, respecting client privacy unless risk is involved.
How long do sessions run?
Each session runs for 50 minutes.
If you are running late, the session will still finish at it's usual time. I cannot offer additional time as this may affect other clients' appointments.
Can I mix in-person and online therapy?
It is not recommended to blend the two modes together simultaenously as this can cause confusion, inconsistency and ruptures to the therapeutic work and in the therapeutic relationship.
However, if you have been attending regular in person or online therapy for at least six months (24 weeks) and wish to change modality, we can discuss the suitability of this. If the change doesn't work, we can always switch back.
Can I bring my friend or partner?
No. Your therapy is private and only conducted between you and I.
If you arrive with a friend or partner, they will need to wait outside the premises until you finish your session.
Is there parking?
Yes, free parking is available.
Are guide dogs allowed?
Yes. Guide dogs are welcome.
